Welcome to the Byron Public Schools!
My
name is Jeff Elstad and I am excited to be the new superintendent in
the Byron Public Schools. Before landing in Byron, I served as a
middle school principal, assistant high school principal, director of
special services, and special educator. I am entering my 19th year in
public education and consider myself so fortunate to have the
opportunity to shape our future every day.
The Byron Public
schools is firmly grounded in the process of continuous improvement.
It is deeply woven into the fabric of the school district. Recently,
the Byron Public Schools were awarded the Advancement Level status by
the Quality Council of Minnesota. This recognition is indicative of
the quality, passionate, and committed staff that serve our children
and community.
You will find a deep-seated feeling of community
pride in our schools. This pride is evident in the excellence that is
demonstrated by our students and staff through our academic,
co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. The Byron Public Schools
was recently recognized both at the state and national levels for our
innovative and “out-of-the-box” approaches to delivering a quality
curriculum such as, the “Flipped” Classrooms and Hybrid On-line courses
that continue to prepare our students for a competitive global economy
and community.
The community of Byron is a warm and
family-focused community that truly recognizes the importance of
quality schools. This continued support of the schools has built a
firm foundation based upon the expectation of excellence that is
present in the community.
